In the anime, Ash (aka the Guardian) was created by Luther using the same basic methods that Xion used to create Matoi. The Episode Oracle anime actually plays around with this a bit. Apparently this is how Schreger (the Weyland Emperor from Episode 5) was confirmed to be the first Dark Falz Elder which is why he's the one to transform into Omega Falz Elder and not Omega-Gettemhult. It might be that the information of the Guardian being Xion's creation could have come from side material. I've been confused about the same thing for a while myself. Because the origin of the MC isn't in the story, it's not reasonable to assume their origin to be extraordinary. I assume if the MC's origin was something more fantastic than that, it would have been noteworthy enough to be explicitly mentioned in the story. In my opinion, the simplest explanation for the existence of any person is ordinary procreation. Generally, I reject head canon and use Occam's Razor when an explanation isn't given. And we all know Sega will probably never give us an answer. But until Sega gives us a solid answer, just about anything could be true. It's just fans making up head canon they like because the game doesn't answer their question. I know this is unrelated to your question about the origin of the MC, but I bring it up to demonstrate that just because a fan theory is popular, widely circulated, and even widely accepted, that doesn't make it canon, or even more likely to be canon. They'll turn whatever unrelated information they can find into "evidence" to support their conclusion. They start imagining connections that the game never made between Shiva and the MC and comparing fighting styles. But, people like the idea, so they repeat it. A lack of information isn't an implication. But it isn't implied anywhere, at any time, or in any way. People say over and over that it's implied, which is convenient because if it's implied they don't need solid proof. People like the conclusion, so they repeat it.Īnother example of this is the repeated theory that the MC is the creator of the Luster class. People grab onto a few cryptic statements from Shiva or Xion and extrapolate them way beyond what was said or even implied in an effort to shoehorn it to prove their theory. Anytime people start going off on detailed theories to support what they're saying, it's because the game doesn't actually state their conclusion and it's wide open to interpretation. It doesn't help any that any of the reliable sources online appear to be so out of date they don't even include info about Omega in their story content listings >.<' anybody want to help clear up the confusion here for me? this always makes my head hurt when people try to pass off non-canon content as if its true to the game lore, and at the same time, if I'm wrong and that it IS included in the game lore, then i want to know WHERE because clearly I missed something HUGE in the cutscenes if this is true to the game's story! o_o' Or are people just taking the PSO2 Anime as canon and assuming that because of "Ash's necklace" being the same insignia as Luther's handy work, that just like how Xion "apparently copied Luther's work in order to create Matori" (again, the anime not game lore here) that the same must be true of Ash - and thus the Player's in game protag character? But the main character? AKA the Player's character? WHERE IN THE LORE DID I MISS THIS INFROMATION? Yes, Matoi was created by Xion, that's pretty obvious in the story. I've been reading a lot of claims floating around that have gone along the lines of "the MC and Matoi were both created by Xion" - and despite having clear all 6 storys (with the exception of one annoying painful side-quest against a certain crazy woman with in 4's story) and i have not ONCE recalled there being *ANY IMPLICATIONS* that imply that the main character was created by Xion, ever.
